Co-registration is best described as the collection of potential customers that have pro-actively shown interest in your offer and would like to be contacted by you. If a subscriber does not wish to be contacted by your company the lead will not be sent. The leads that will be sent through will be hot leads and need a follow up by e-mail, telephone or direct mail to convert the lead into an existing customer. Co-registration are leads that are highly interested in your offer. Co-registration leads have taken notice of your offer, seen your business and/or service provision and have taken affirmative action to give you their credentials to be contacted with the offer described.
If the collection process is in full consent with privacy laws co-registration is fully legal. The opt-in from the coregistration subscriber is mandatory, after the opt-in you are allowed to contact your prospect at any given time by e-mail and or postal/telephone. Make sure that when you are emailing on your opt-in database collected by coregistration that you provide your subscribers a way to unsubscribe. In the case of co-registration the user opts-in to be contacted by you (stated in the terms and conditions) AND gives you another opt-in for your offer. You can see coregistration as double opt-in leadcollection.
